Updated Read only field using Javascript

Hi all,

I have an entity where i have a read only field, using my javascript i am setting value to that field. The problem is when i save the form the updated value in that field is displayed but after it gets refresh again the same old value would be displaying . Is ther any other way to set value to read only field using javascript
